0.9.x

0.9.4 current

2026-09-27

New

  • Jebbie has a new look: the elf archaeologist, same hat, duster and bandana. Her portrait in the viewer, on the minimap button and in the gear tip is the new one. The addon's icon in the AddOns list is unchanged.

0.9.3

2026-09-27

New

  • A Guides button in the viewer's header (beside the gear) opens the guide menu: Leveling (the route you are on first, then the other starter routes for your character), Professions (yours first with your skill, then the rest), Making gold, and Recorder while it is recording. The guide you are in is marked; one click switches.
  • Your place in each guide is kept: switch routes and back and you are on the same step; a profession guide comes back where you left it.
  • < Leveling on the subtitle line takes you straight back from a profession, gold or the recorder. Clicking the guide title still opens the menu, and /jebbie guides does too.

0.9.2

2026-09-27

Improved

  • The Satchel lookup asks for every node (not the player's filtered view, so hiding gray nodes in the Satchel never hides one the guide wants) and counts the Ooze Covered veins and deposits as their plain kind.

0.9.1

2026-09-27

Improved

  • With Jebbie's Satchel (the gathering addon) installed, a Mining or Herbalism step in the profession guide points the arrow and the Waypoint button at the nearest node of the kinds that step names, from the Satchel's read-only JebbiesSatchel API. Without the Satchel nothing changes.

0.9.0

2026-09-27

New

  • Start-zone recorder for races with no route yet (Forever's Skyborne, race 95). It turns on by itself for such a character and says so once; /jebbie record on|off changes it, /jebbie record shows what it has. Out of combat only, it keeps: where the character starts, the zones and subzones entered, every NPC talked to and what they do (quests offered, vendor, trainer, flight master, innkeeper, bank), quest offers with their objective text and XP, accepts, turn-ins, where objectives progress, level-ups, and a light trail of positions. Nothing is sent anywhere.
  • The companion keeps a durable copy of each recording (~/.jebbies-almanac/recordings/), and python3 tools/draft_route.py turns one into a draft starter route (accept, do, turn in, train, set hearth, flight path steps in the order they were played) with a review of what is missing, ready for a later build to ship.

0.8.x

0.8.0

New

  • Making gold: a new mode in the viewer (/jebbie gold, or "Making gold" in the guide title's list). From your bags: what to sell to a vendor (gray and soulbound items, and anything the Auction House pays less for), what to auction (with the price you saw and when), and what to keep because your profession guide needs it next. Then what could sell: recipes your skill allows that are worth more than their materials, and what your gathering brings in at your skill.
  • Auction prices come only from what you have seen: when you browse or search the Auction House, the addon keeps the lowest price it was shown for each item (per realm and faction, the middle of the last few sightings). It never sends a search, posts, bids or buys. An item you have not seen has no price, and the advice says to look it up.
  • Item tooltips show the auction price you saw, or which profession needs the item. At a vendor, one chat line says how many gray items you carry and what they are worth. Nothing is ever sold for you.
  • With the companion, Jebbie gives her call (keep, vendor or auction, with a confidence) on the items the rules cannot settle: tradeable items with no price seen, or a price close to the vendor's.

0.7.x

New

  • Profession guides for all twelve professions: Herbalism, Mining, Skinning, First Aid, Cooking, Fishing, Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Engineering, Tailoring, Enchanting and Leatherworking, for each faction. Click the guide title and pick a profession (yours are listed first with your skill), or type /jebbie prof tailoring; /jebbie level goes back to the leveling guide.
  • The guide reads your skill and shows the step for it: what to make and how many, with each material counted from your bags (green when you have enough) and where it comes from (vendor and price, a herb or ore node, fishing, skinning, disenchanting, a drop, or another profession). When you reach a rank's cap it shows the next rank first: trainer, book or quest, with its level and fee.
  • The recipe path is the cheapest one through orange and yellow recipes (greens only to bridge a gap), built from the vMaNGOS trainer, recipe and vendor data. Recipes with cooldowns, reputation requirements or drop-only patterns are left out. Gathering steps list the zones with the most nodes for your side; fishing lists the zones where your casts land.
  • The arrow, the Waypoint button and /jebbie way point at the nearest trainer, vendor or gathering zone for the profession step. Map pins for the route are paused while a profession guide is shown.

0.6.x

0.6.8

2026-09-27

Improved

  • The guide's background is back to the 0.6.5 look by default (the lighter, slightly see-through one at 85 percent). If 0.6.6 or 0.6.7 moved your setting to 92 percent without you choosing it, it goes back to 85. The Background opacity slider (30 to 100 percent) and the ... menu presets stay.
  • tools/update.py now reports the version that was in the game before the update (read from the game's AddOns folder), not the version in the checkout, and says "already up to date" when the game already had the newest one.

0.6.7

2026-09-27

Fixed

  • The header's step counter and buttons (<, counter, >, gear, ..., x) could vanish. They are now placed from the window's real width every time it changes, drawn above everything else in the window, and wrap to a second row if the window is ever too narrow; they are never hidden. /jebbie layout prints where each one is, for a live check.

0.6.6

2026-09-27

Improved

  • The guide window's background is near solid by default (92 percent) so the objective tracker behind it no longer shows through; "Background opacity" in settings goes from 30 to 100 percent. Text and borders always stay fully opaque.
  • The small amber dash under the subtitle was the route progress bar with little progress on it. It now runs the full width with a visible track, has a tooltip ("step 42 of 1623"), and the subtitle adds how far along the route you are.

0.6.5

2026-09-27

Improved

  • A gear button in the guide window's header (between > and ...) opens Jebbie's Almanac settings, with a tooltip. The title now has its own line under the buttons, so nothing overlaps at any width. The world map cog from 0.6.4 is removed, and so is the menu's "All settings..." entry (the gear does that).

0.6.4

2026-09-27

Improved

  • (A world map cog, removed in 0.6.5.)
  • The move cursor on the guide window's top bar is about a quarter smaller; the bar itself is a little taller, so it is still easy to grab.

0.6.3

2026-09-27

New

  • Priests: routes to 40 from Elwynn and Dun Morogh, priest trainer visits at each new spell level, the priest quests for your own race (for example Hallowed Rune and Desperate Prayer for a Dwarf), and priest tips (Power Word: Shield, Renew, Mind Blast, Psychic Scream). Nothing mage-specific shows for a priest.
  • Trainer steps list only spells your trainer offers you: race-only spells for your race, no talent ranks; the step ticks off when most of them are in your spellbook.

0.6.2

2026-09-27

Improved

  • Boats from a small hand-made table: Menethil Harbor to Auberdine, Menethil Harbor to Theramore, and the Auberdine to Rut'theran Village ferry, each pointing at its pier ("Take the boat from Menethil Harbor to Auberdine"). Crossing times are estimates.

0.6.1

2026-09-27

Improved

  • Thicker step reasons: quest level and XP, what to kill (with their levels, elites marked), rewards, and which quest a turn-in opens.
  • With the companion and Jebadiah: a line of Jebbie's advice on steps: where to start at a quest hub (next quest), whether a doubtful quest is worth doing, and, when you are in a party, whether a group quest is worth it (quests she calls not worth it are left out). Advice only: nothing happens without your click.

0.6.0

2026-09-27

New

  • Routes run to level 40 (Elwynn and Dun Morogh mage routes), over both continents.
  • Travel is in the route: "Get the flight path" as you pass flight masters, "Fly to" when it saves time, the Deeprun Tram between Stormwind and Ironforge, the ships from Menethil Harbor to Auberdine and Theramore, the Rut'theran ferry, "Make this inn your home" at a new hub, and "Hearth to" when home is on the way.
  • Trainer visits at each new spell level when a trainer is a few minutes away (or two levels behind), with Teleport: Stormwind and Ironforge at 20 and Darnassus at 30.

0.5.x

0.5.3

2026-09-26

Improved

  • Default sounds are Jason's picks: the little fanfare, Jebbie's voice (twelve lines) and the gear tick, mixed at random, never the same line twice in a row. The other eight jingles are still there, muted, in the Sound pool.

Fixed

  • The first objective progress of a newly accepted quest is now recorded; the login chat line is shorter.

0.5.2

2026-09-26

New

  • All new sounds: nine jingles and four ticks, and Jebbie's own voice (a soft, warm British voice designed for her) for twelve lines. The random mix, modes and Sound pool work as before.

0.5.1

2026-09-26

Improved

  • A random mix of quest finishes: seven jingles and ten short Jebbie lines ("Easy peasy!", "Another one for the almanac!", "Job's done!" and more, all in her own voice), never the same one twice in a row. Modes: random, jingle only, voice only, jingle then voice. Drop any sound from the mix in the Sound pool.

0.5.0

2026-09-26

New

  • Sounds: a short jingle when a quest's objectives are all done (three to pick from, or the game's own quest sound), a quiet tick for progress, and optionally Jebbie's little robot voice saying "Done!". Settings: on/off, voice, channel, test.

0.4.x

0.4.5

2026-09-26

Improved

  • Gear suggestions look at every bag change (trades, mail, login), count enchants on both the new and the worn item, and say when an upgrade would lose an enchant.

0.4.4

2026-09-26

Improved

  • The on-screen arrow comes back after a fight, a loading screen or a moment without facing (it used to stay hidden until /reload); /jebbie arrow says why it is hidden; a step with no place shows "no location yet".

0.4.3

2026-09-26

Improved

  • The game waypoint is set again: it tries the zone map, then its parent, then the continent; the Waypoint button moved clear of the resize grip; /jebbie way sets it and says which map it used.

0.4.2

2026-09-26

New

  • Text size (9 to 18) and font (the game's own four) for all viewer text; rows reflow so nothing clips.
  • Viewer width: a setting, or drag the bottom-right corner (300 to 700).
  • A handlebar across the top is the only place that moves the viewer; Lock dims it and stops dragging and resizing.
  • In the Settings panel and the ... menu, with Reset size and position.

0.4.1

2026-09-26

Improved

  • Coordinates are zone coordinates (Elwynn Forest 42.1, 65.8), not the continent.
  • The viewer title is short (Elwynn · Mage 1-20) with the full name on hover; the controls never cover it.
  • Quests the guide does not know yet (new in Forever) show as "Your quest (not in our guide yet)" with their live objectives; their accept, objective progress and turn-in are recorded.
  • Shorter chat lines.

0.4.0

2026-09-26

New

  • Minimap button: left-click shows or hides the viewer, right-click opens the menu, drag it around the minimap edge.
  • An x on the viewer, /jebbie show, hide and toggle, and a key binding.
  • The viewer remembers where you put it and whether it was open.
  • A short "What's new" note in chat after each update.

0.3.x

0.3.0

2026-09-26

New

  • Settings in the game's Options, and a quick menu on the viewer.
  • Find nearest: trainers, vendor, repair, innkeeper, mailbox, flight master, bank.
  • Gear suggestions with Equip and Decline (only your click equips).
  • A quest item button.

0.2.x

0.2.0

2026-09-26

New

  • Zone-change prompt, a richer step viewer, an on-screen arrow.

0.1.x

0.1.1

2026-09-26

Fixed

  • Fixed a map pin error on login. The addon follows your quest log and picks the route from where you stand.
