Help
Stuck? Here is how to get help.
Something not working? Most fixes are below. If yours isn't, tell us, whichever way is easiest: every report goes straight to the people who make the addons.
Troubleshooting
The addon doesn't show up in the game
- After a first install, quit the game completely and start it again. The game only finds new addon folders when it starts;
/reloadis not enough for a folder it has never seen. - At the character screen, open AddOns and check that the addon is listed and ticked.
- Installing by hand? The addon's folder must sit directly in
World of Warcraft/_classic_beta_/Interface/AddOns, not inside another folder. A common slip isAddOns/JebbiesAlmanac-0.9.50/JebbiesAlmanac: move the inner folder up one level. - Using the launcher? Check it points at your WoW Forever folder: Copy diagnostics shows the folder and which game it found there.
Do I need /reload or a full restart?
- Restart the game after a first install, or when an update adds a new folder (the release notes say so when it does).
- Type
/reloadafter an ordinary update, and whenever the companion writes you a new plan: the game reads your plan only on/reload. - The game also saves your addon data (SavedVariables) only on
/reloador logout, so the companion and bug reports see new data after one of those.
I moved the game, or the launcher can't find it
- Press Locate game... in the launcher and pick your WoW Forever folder (the one called
_classic_beta_). The launcher remembers it. - If it says the folder isn't WoW Forever, you probably picked Retail or Classic Era. If you're sure it's the right folder, choose Use this folder anyway.
What the launcher's error messages mean
- Launcher 0.1.21 and later say these in plain words, with the raw error kept underneath. Older versions show only the raw error, which usually names the same problem.
- Can't reach jebbiesmods.com: check your internet connection, then try again.
- The app can't write to the game's AddOns folder: close the game and try again. If it keeps happening, check that the folder isn't read-only.
- A file is in use: the game is holding it. Close WoW Forever and try again.
- The disk is full: free some space and try again.
- The download didn't match: nothing was installed. Try again in a minute.
- Anything else: press Report a problem. The full error is kept under each message, and the report includes it.
The Almanac companion won't start, or its page stopped updating
- Start it from the launcher: the Almanac row has a start button, and the launcher stops the companion when it quits.
- On a Mac the companion needs Python 3.10 or newer, and macOS ships an older one. If the launcher says there is no Python it can use, install the current Python from python.org and start the companion again.
- Its page is at
http://127.0.0.1:8765. If something else already uses that address, it starts on the next free one, and the launcher says so. - If the page says it's offline, the companion stopped: start it again from the launcher.
- Still stuck? Copy diagnostics in the launcher shows the companion's state; send it with Report a problem.
My Almanac plan didn't change in the game
- The companion writes your plan, and the game reads it on
/reload. With the companion running, type/reload. - The companion only sees what you've done after the game saves, which happens on
/reloador logout.
Something broke after an update
- In the launcher, choose Go back to the previous version on the addon's row. The launcher keeps the version it replaced.
- Then tell us what broke with Report a problem, or
/jebbie bugin the game, so the next build fixes it.
Old Jebbie folders are left in AddOns
- Use Clean up leftovers in the launcher. It lists Jebbie folders that no current release uses, and moves the ones you pick into the launcher's own folder, so nothing is deleted outright.
Questions
Are the addons free?
- Yes, all of them, for good. There are no premium features, nothing in the game asks for money, and there are no ads. Tips are optional and live only on this website.
Do I need the launcher?
- No. Each addon's page has a zip you can install by hand. The launcher just does it in one click, keeps everything up to date, can go back a version, and starts the Almanac companion.
What's the difference between beta and stable?
- Stable is what everyone gets. Beta gets new builds first and may have bugs; turn on Beta in the launcher's settings to get it. Beta builds come through the launcher only.
Will the launcher touch my other addons or my settings?
- No. It only creates, replaces or removes the folders of Jebbie's own addons. Other addons are left alone, and it never opens the
WTFfolder where your settings and SavedVariables live.
Are my settings kept when I update?
- Yes. Your settings live in the game's
WTFfolder, which updates never touch, and the Almanac plan the companion writes is kept across updates too.
Which game are these for?
- World of Warcraft: Forever only (interface 16001). They are not for Retail or Classic Era.
How do I report a bug?
- Report a problem in the launcher, the bug command in the game (for example
/jebbie bug), or the bug form on this site. All three reach the people who make the addons.
Where can I see what changed?
- The changelog lists every addon's latest versions, with a link to each addon's full history.
Report a problem
- In the launcher: press Report a problem. It sends the details for you, and can include a screenshot.
- In the game:
- Jebbie's Almanac: type
/jbugin game - Jebbie's Satchel: type
/jbugin game - Jebbie's Voices: type
/voices bugin game - Jebbie's Ledger: type
/jbugin game - Jebbie's Talents: type
/jbugin game - Jebbie's Dungeon Journal: type

/jbugin game - Jebbie's Mage Companion: type
/jbugin game - Jebbie's Hunter Companion: type
/jbugin game - Jebbie's Warlock Companion: type
/jbugin game
- Jebbie's Almanac: type
- If the launcher won't start, or you don't use it: the bug form on this site. Describe what happened, or paste a report code from the game.
Install and update
- With the launcher (get it here): pick your WoW Forever folder once, then install and update each addon with one click. Your settings are kept.
- By hand: download the addon's zip from its page, unzip it, and move its folder into
World of Warcraft/_classic_beta_/Interface/AddOns. Restart the game the first time; after an update,/reloadis enough unless the update adds a new folder. - Beta builds come through the launcher only: turn on Beta in its settings.
